Wow! We have worked super hard on our NY state ELA tests this week. It is great to be done with them! On Tuesday, students answered 40 some-odd multiple choice questions about reading passages, many which required them to reread portions of the text to find the best answer. Tuesday brought another set of passages. Students answered a handful of multiple choice questions, then wrote to answer questions, doing both shorter responses and an extended response (essay) piece. Today's ELA consisted of reading passages and written responses, again, including an essay.
Each day, we had 4 to 5 students who used the entire time to complete the exam, with some rushing at the end. All students used at least 3/4 of the allotted time to complete their exams. I am proud of their concentration, perseverance and patience for this process. Luckily, some of the reading passages were quite interesting.
This week we have been working on Geometry in Math. There will be a quiz tomorrow on classifying triangles and quadrilaterals. See the Geometry section of our website for some review activities.
