We reviewed one digit divisors and problem solving in Math
In the Library, we used Google translate and Microsoft Word to print out signs reading Welcome, friend! in about 3o different languages. We will decorate the borders with our K buddies on Friday. The signs will be welcoming people at the Family Reading Partnership festival in November.
OUr Human Rights unit, developed by New York State, includes mentions of the Holocaust in the study of the Declaration of Human Rights. Today we saw a Brain Pop animated video about the causes and basic facts of the Holocaust. We had some conversation, and the children were asked NOT to google or youTube search information about Hitler, Nazis or the Holocaust, as the images and information may be disturbing.
For Science, we went to Mr. Anderson's room where some Cornell students taught us more about states of matter. We changed milk/sugar/vanilla liquid into a frozen solid by adding liquid nitrogen. Yummy science!
The due date for our blog final project has been extended to Monday, due to Halloween on Friday
